Playing together and purchases

Up to four players can play on one Nintendo Switch. Online, friends can play a course together or race, and players going solo online see silhouettes of other players around the world, according to Nintendo. The ESRB doesn't list Users Interact. Nintendo says Yoshi and Nabbit don't take damage and suit players just starting out.

The game costs $59.99; the Switch 2 Edition costs $79.99, or Switch owners can buy an upgrade pack.

The habit kids may copy: fall, and go again

In Mario, falling into a pit sends you back, and most players just press the button and try again.

Try tonight: another way

When a puzzle, a tower, or a shoe buckle doesn't work, stop and ask: "That way didn't work. What's another way?" Let your child name one new try before helping. In our program, this is the lesson "Plan B": if one way doesn't work, try another.
