Honkai Star Rail age rating: what's in it
Short answer: It's rated for teens in the US.
- US & Canada (ESRB): T. The ESRB describes turn-based fights with swords, spears, arrows, and pistols; a few female characters in revealing outfits, with cutscene camera angles that linger on their chests; and a casino-style slot machine played with tokens, which is why it lists Simulated Gambling.
- Europe & UK (PEGI): 12, for moderate violence and bad language, with a "Paid random items" label. PEGI says that after its rating criteria changed in June 2026, games with loot boxes or other paid random items get PEGI 16 by default. This entry hadn't been updated as of October 2026.
- App Store: 13+. Google Play: Teen.
How Warps work: paid random draws
Short answer: A Warp is a random draw for characters and equipment, and its currency can be bought with real money.
On the App Store, Oneiric Shards cost $0.99 for 60 up to $99.99 for 6,480. Guides such as TechRaptor and Android Authority say each Warp uses one Star Rail Pass, worth 160 Stellar Jade, and that Oneiric Shards convert to Stellar Jade. Apple's listing says the game "includes optional in-game purchases, including random virtual items," and the ESRB and Google Play use the label "In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items)."
