Wuthering Waves age rating: what's in it

Short answer: It's rated for teens in the US and for 16 and up in Europe.

  • US & Canada (ESRB): T. The ESRB describes fights against people and fantasy creatures, a cinematic scene with close-ups of a character punched in the face repeatedly, female characters in revealing outfits, and a few strong words.
  • Europe & UK (PEGI): 16. PEGI says that after its rating criteria changed in June 2026, games with loot boxes or other paid random items get PEGI 16 by default. PEGI adds sexual innuendo and notes that photo mode can show characters' clothing in revealing ways.
  • App Store: 13+, including horror/fear themes. Google Play: Teen.

How Convenes work: paid random draws

Short answer: A Convene is the game's random draw for characters and weapons, and its currency can be bought with real money.

On the App Store, Lunites cost $0.99 for 60 up to $99.99 for 6,480, and there's a $4.99 Lunite subscription. Guides such as Prydwen say each draw uses a Tide, which costs 160 Astrite, and that Lunites convert to Astrite. The ESRB and Google Play label the game "In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items)," and Apple says it "Contains Loot Boxes."

The habit kids may copy: fight first

In Wuthering Waves, most problems are solved in battle, and the battles are fast and flashy.

Try tonight: stop, breathe, choose

Play "freeze": your child runs around, and when you say "Freeze!" they stop, take one slow breath, and tell you one thing they could do next. Say: "Stop. Breathe. Now choose." In our program, this is the lesson "The Pause Button": stop, breathe, choose.
