One Piece age rating: what's in it

Short answer: The live-action is rated higher than the anime in the UK.

  • US: TV-14 for both, per Common Sense Media's listing.
  • UK (BBFC): live-action 15; Netflix's anime episodes classified by the BBFC are 12.

Why young kids know One Piece

The anime aired on Cartoon Network in the US, and Common Sense Media files it under kids' animation. On Roblox, Blox Fruits, a popular game, is inspired by One Piece.

The habit kids may copy: the cigarette

Common Sense Media notes nearly constant smoking by main characters in the anime, and the BBFC lists smoking as a reason for its rating.
