What is Tower of Hell?

Short answer: A Roblox obstacle course, or "obby," in which players race to the top of a tower that is randomly built each round.

Its page says there are "absolutely no checkpoints at all," so one slip means starting again. It was created in June 2018 by YXceptional Studios. As of October 18, 2026, it had about 29.2 billion visits and about 47,700 players online at once.

Tower of hell age rating: what's in it

Short answer: Roblox is rated T for Teen; Tower of Hell's own Roblox label is Minimal.

  • Platform: the ESRB rates Roblox T for Teen, with Users Interact and In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items).
  • Roblox label: Minimal, suitable for everyone.
  • Own rating: we found no ESRB, PEGI, or Common Sense Media rating for Tower of Hell.

Roblox says Minimal games may contain occasional mild violence, light unrealistic blood, and/or occasional mild fear (Roblox).

Chat, purchases, and lawsuits

Up to 20 players climb the same tower, and chat runs through Roblox. Game passes cost 90 to 480 Robux, including Double Coins (195). Coins, gear such as a hook or an hourglass that stops time, and weekly or monthly memberships sell for 9 to 1,200 Robux. An "Effect Box" is sold for 9 Robux; we couldn't confirm whether its contents are random.

Several US states have sued Roblox, the platform, over child safety, including Louisiana (August 2025), Kentucky (October 2025), and Texas (November 2025). Roblox has disputed the claims, and we found no government action against this experience or its developers. More on the platform: Roblox.

The habit kids may copy: rage restart

With no checkpoints, one slip near the top sends you to the bottom, and frustration is part of the game.

Try tonight: not yet

Build a tall block tower together until it falls. Then say: "Not yet. What did that fall teach me?" and build it again. In our program, this is the lesson "Not Yet": the trying matters.
